Rhodes
Arrival in Rhodes is at 08:30; Rhodes Island, the largest of the 12 islands belonging to Greece, is located in the Aegean Sea, directly opposite Marmaris. Rhodes relies almost entirely on tourism for its livelihood. The city of Rhodes, considered the central part of the island, is divided into Old and New City: Old City, as the name suggests, is the part where historical buildings are located. The city is surrounded by 12 m thick walls, where the influences of the knights and the Ottoman period dominate. The Old Town is an area that attracts more tourists compared to other parts of the island, with its narrow streets once roamed by knight riders, the mystical atmosphere of the castle, its churches, and mosques. The Archaeological Museum, once a hospital for knights, and the statue of Aphrodite in this museum are among the must-see places. After the Old Town, Lindos is the most visited place on the island. Located 47 km away from Rhodes city, Lindos is famous for its whitewashed cubic houses, blue window frames adorned with geraniums, narrow, winding streets, and the ancient castle at the top that opens a page from history. The local people have thought of those who are reluctant to climb the castle and have introduced donkey taxis. Our ship will leave the port at 01:00.
