1st Day Istanbul Pendik Train Station – Sivas
We will meet for our train departing from Istanbul Pendik. Our pleasant journey will take 7 hours, and we will be traveling in 2+2 pullman seats. Upon our arrival in Sivas, we will start a city tour. Sivas is a city in Turkey's Central Anatolia region, notable for its historical and cultural riches. The places to be seen during our tour include the Sivas Congress Building and Atatürk Congress and Ethnography Museum, Gök Medrese, Çifte Minareli Medrese, Buruciye Medresesi, Divriği Ulu Mosque and Darüşşifa, Sivas Castle, Şifaiye Medresesi, Sivas Archaeology Museum, and Eğri Bridge.
Sivas Congress Building and Atatürk Congress and Ethnography Museum: The building where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends held the Sivas Congress in 1919 now serves as a museum. Important documents and items from the War of Independence are exhibited there.
Gök Medrese: Built in 1271, Gök Medrese is one of the most important works of the Seljuk period. The medrese is notable for its stone craftsmanship and architecture.
Çifte Minareli Medrese: Another significant Seljuk structure built in 1271, it gets its name from the two minarets located on either side of the entrance gate.
Buruciye Medresesi: Constructed during the reign of III. Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev in 1271, it is another Seljuk work noted for its stone craftsmanship and decorations.
Divriği Ulu Mosque and Darüşşifa: This mosque and hospital complex, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built during the Mengücek Beyliği period between 1228-1229. It is famous worldwide for its architectural details and stone craftsmanship.
Sivas Castle: One of the historical structures of the city, Sivas Castle is worth a visit both for its historical remains and the view it offers.
Şifaiye Medresesi: This medrese, built between 1217-1218 by I. İzzeddin Keykavus, has also served as a medical school and hospital.
Sivas Archaeology Museum: The museum that exhibits artifacts obtained from archaeological excavations in and around Sivas sheds light on the region's history.
Eğri Bridge: This bridge, which belongs to the Seljuk period, is located over the Kızılırmak River and consists of 12 arches.
2nd Day Sivas – Erzincan
After a local breakfast in the morning and a short break, we will head to Erzincan. Erzincan is a city in the Eastern Anatolia region, known for its historical and natural beauties. The places we will see during our tour include Kemaliye, Erzincan Castle, Girlevik Waterfall, Historical Erzincan Houses, and Erzincan Archaeology and Ethnography Museum.
Kemaliye (Eğin): It is one of the districts of Erzincan famous for its natural beauties. Located within the Munzur Mountains National Park, Kemaliye is an ideal destination for nature sports and trekking. It is approximately 100 km away from the city center.
Erzincan Castle: One of the historical symbols of the city, Erzincan Castle is a structure remaining from the Seljuk period. The castle is located in the city center and overlooks the city from a high position.
Girlevik Waterfall: This waterfall located in Girlevik Village of Erzincan's Kemaliye district attracts visitors with its natural beauty and cool water. It is an ideal place for picnicking and nature walks.
Historical Erzincan Houses: There are many historical mansions and houses in Erzincan city center and surroundings. These houses reflect traditional Erzincan architecture and way of life.
Erzincan Archaeology and Ethnography Museum: The museum located in the city center displays the region's historical and cultural heritage. It contains archaeological artifacts, ethnographic objects, and documents.
3rd Day Erzincan – Erzurum
After a local breakfast in the morning and a short break, we will move on to Erzurum. Erzurum is a city located in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey, known for its historical, cultural, and natural riches. During our tour, we will visit Erzurum Castle, Çifte Minareli Medrese, Lala Mustafa Paşa Mosque, Palandöken Mountain, Tortum Lake and Waterfall, Aziziye Fortifications, and Erzurum Archaeology and Ethnography Museum.
Erzurum Castle: One of the symbols of the city, Erzurum Castle, is known for its historical defensive structures. The castle is situated at one of the highest points of the city, offering a panoramic view.
Çifte Minareli Medrese: This structure from the Seljuk period is one of Erzurum's most important historical monuments. It is known for its double minarets and is noted for its unique architecture and decorations.
Lala Mustafa Paşa Mosque: Also known as Yakutiye Medrese, this structure was built in the 14th century. It is considered an important cultural heritage with its stone craftsmanship and geometric patterns.
Palandöken Mountain: Located north of Erzurum, Palandöken Mountain is an ideal destination for winter tourism. It is famous for its international ski centers and hotels. It is perfect for winter sports.
Tortum Lake and Waterfall: Located approximately 100 km northeast of Erzurum, Tortum Lake is known for its stunning scenery and clear water.
Aziziye Fortifications: Located to the east of Erzurum, the Aziziye Fortifications were built during the 1877-1878 Ottoman-Russian War and have historical and military significance.
Erzurum Archaeology and Ethnography Museum: The museum located in the city center displays the region's archaeological and ethnographic wealth. It is an ideal place to explore Erzurum's history and cultural heritage more closely.
4th Day Erzurum – Kars
After a local breakfast in the morning and a short break, we will move on to Kars. Kars is a city in northeastern Turkey, famous for its historical and natural beauties. During our first day of sightseeing, we will see Kars Castle, Ani Ruins, and Kümbet Mosque.
Kars Castle: Located in the city center, Kars Castle is from the Seljuk period and dominates the city. By visiting the castle, you can see the panoramic view of the city.
Ani Ruins: One of Kars's most important historical sites, Ani Ruins are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can see churches, mosques, and walls from the Byzantine period.
Kümbet Mosque and Tombs: Located in the center of Kars, Kümbet Mosque is a historical mosque from the Seljuk and Ottoman periods. The tombs in the city are also significant historical structures.
5th Day Kars
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a tour of Çıldır and Sarıkamış.
Sarıkamış Ski Resort: Located in the Sarıkamış district of Kars, this ski resort is ideal for those who want to engage in winter sports. You can enjoy skiing and snowboarding, taking advantage of the continental climate.
Çıldır Lake: Located about 100 km from Kars, Çıldır Lake is a lake that freezes in winter and dazzles with its natural beauty. You can walk on the ice or go fishing in the lake.
6th Day Kars – Istanbul
Unfortunately, this is the last day of our tour. After a local breakfast, we will transfer to Kars airport. NOTE: Only breakfast is available today.
